One chance to shine

We all feel that theres only one point in your life that will be the best, most greatest and a point that changes you and your life completely. But how can we know that this one point isn't just another stepping stone for you to jump off? Well that may be the case, i suppose you do have to jump from stone to stone to eventually get to that shining star, but when you find it and it dims out, what do you do after?  do you give up and never choose to fight?
